I made a little diagram showing our progress at geocaching. So far on our best week we`ve found 24 GCs, a tally we`re now unlikely to top when caching in Latvia, that happened on one of the first weeks of geocaching when it was much easier to choose which caches to visit - as there were so many of unfound caches in Riga and around it. The second best result was achieved this January (23 caches) on the week when we went to Vilnius. Although we found relatively few caches in the capital of our Southern neighbour, it stilled proved to be a good GCing week. Last week was also productive - with 14 caches it was a repeated 3rd best result (same number of caches as the week when we were in Belgium), and it was our first time when we found at least one cache every day of the week (so currently our result is 8 days with found caches, so there is still some chance for us to be GCing 10 days in a row).
Six months is quite a lot of time. There were some periods when we seemed to be tired of geocaching (we found just 3 caches over the entire month of December), but as a whole this is one hell of a hobby. Because of it we`ve gone to places which we otherwise wouldn`t have seen - and not only abroad but also in Latvia (and sometimes - even in Riga), so it can be said that geocaching is probably one of the best kinds of sightseeing. Also a while ago we were thinking that there was nowhere left to go in Latvia - that we`ve been everywhere, but thanks to geocaching this problem has been solved. Yes, there are shitcaches hidden in unpleasant locations, and there are caches which are way too dangerous for us even to consider looking for them, but there are amazing caches as well, and another plus of GCing is sometimes meeting other geocachers - people who share the same enthusiasm, spending time outdoors, either with friends or with children, using their heads and solving tricky tasks. That`s the way I like it.
