Internet - what`s that?
It`s now been four weeks without Internet at home and I have to say that currently I`m pretty comfortable with being offine after work. The first week was really tough - regularly you think of something and want to check it up on the web but lately I don`t miss Internet that much and it`s nice for a change not to have the home PC turned on for at least 16 hours every day. Now I only turn the PC on when I want to watch a film or have something that I *really* want to do.
Of course, it doesn`t mean that I have decided to let it stay as it is. I still think that it having no Internet access at home is rather lame, and visiting friends just to send an e-mail is not the collest thing to do in 2008. On the other hand - visiting friends is always nice anyway, plus I don`t have that much of a need to send e-mails after work. 8 hours daily in front of a PC is enough for me for sure. What I do hate is that sometimes when I bring home a film that I want to watch and realize that I don`t have subtitles for it and have no way of obtaining them fast, that can be annoying. But otherwise I`m comfortable with being Internet free.
