A dream

I am geocaching with some strangers in their car. The location is unfamiliar, probably Munich. After we have finished geocaching the driver is returning other cachers home. One of the cachers offers that we can go inside his apartment - either to drink tea or to go to the lavatory, that doesn&39;t really matter. On the way out it turns out that our car has been stolen. It was a beige car of a rather peculiar build.

The guy who&39;s apartment we had entered offers that we can continue our way in his white car. We get in and nearby to the place we spot our stolen car in a used car lot. The car has a new licence plate, but without a doubt it is our car. We leave one of the guys to watch the car, while the rest of us gets the police. I think, there&39;s three of us remaining in the car, and to be honest - I&39;m not sure that I am actually part of the group, because the dream doesn&39;t really have a first person perspective.

At the police station we tell about geocaching, about how we went geocaching together and how the car was stolen. Five policemen join us to go the place where we saw the stolen car (it is very near). However when we get there, the car is gone, and there&39;s no proof that it was ever there. It is already dark outside. One of the policemen wanders off searching for the car. He enters a dark alley, sees something or someone and cries out. A voice is heard: "And then they were four."

In the following minutes/hours other character also die or disappear. At the end just two of them remain - a girl and a guy who cycle away over a bridge. This is the point where we really learn to know that this is Munich through a sign on the road. The girl notices a slip of paper in her pocket. She takes it out and reads it while still cycling. The note says: "If you wish to see the man who was cycling next to you ever again, you should pay me 1000 Canadian Dollars." She looks in horror at the boyfriend who should be on the other bicycle, but it turns out that it&39;s not him but the man who said: "And then they were four." (who&39;s face still is not shown to us) At the moment when she realizes this, he throws her over the bridge.

As she falls down, other slips of paper fall on the pavement. Some of them advertise the services of the maniac who just killed her, others list his "countries of interest". Dream ends.
