Latvia - the fifth most developed country in the world

2008-06-17

According to a recent independent study performed by the staff of "Wakeurdeanus analytic" Latvia is the fifth most developed country in the world, just by a small margin trailing Germany in fourth and quite comfortable in front of Burundi in sixth.

The study was performed by determining a long list of vital criteria for each of the country and calculate the final rating (Ft) after these criteria. The formula used to calculate Ft is too long to fit into this blog entry, thus here will only be given a list of some of the used criteria:

  • ω - the population of the country
  • σ - the average weight of a blind teenage prostitute in the country
  • β - the Radish constant (the amount of radish in stones per capita grown in the country during the monsoon season)
  • ζ - a random number with no meaning whatsoever, determined for each country by throwing the dice
  • π - for the purposes of this work it was presumed that the value of π equals 73
  • η - the average amount of alcohol in decalitres a 35 year old football fan consumes during the figure skating world championships
  • ђ - the same as η, only applying to figure skating European championships
  • ф - the number of millionaires living in the country
  • Њ - the average growth of GDP per capita in the country over the period of the last five years
  • Ў - the Kazhe constant (varies between 7 and 13 according to the mood)
  • Θ - the weight of the biggest river peninsula in the country
  • ΰ - the length of the longest beard (in centimetres) among the Muslim women of the country
