Jim Morrison was a fucking semigod! He was a semigod and he did a lot of fucking! That`s what this movie tells about. And Val Kilmer even looks quite good as Jim, at some scenes I would even think that its the dead rock poet we are actually seing. But of course, it isn`t him. We see the entire Jims life starting with his trip with the family to Mexico and seing a dying indian shaman and until the end in a Paris hotel room bathtub. We listen to Val Kilmer singin` "Touch Me", "Light my Fire" and other classical Doors songs. You know, I really love those songs. And I even like the film versions for them. But apart from them I don`t see nothing spectacular in this movie. So, ok, Jim has his girlfriend and another woman as his regular lover. He takes a lot of drugs, is dissatisfied that he`s more of a fucker than of a poet in the eyes of his fans, he can`t cope up with his stardom; the bandmates don`t really understand him. I fell asleep several times while watching this film, and not because of no reason. I guess, films about imaginary musicians are better than the ones about the real stars, because you don`t need to treat "The Rutles", "Spinal Tap" or even "Stillwater", but you can`t make fun of a dead legend. Is it right or is it wrong?
