Židrūns ir viena no tām saistošajām pašmāju grupām, ko man līdz šim nav gadījies redzēt uzstājamies dzīvajā. Kas, protams, nozīmē tikai to, ka pie pirmās izdevības centīšos šo robu aizpildīt.
It was around 11AM when I was back in the city center of Galati and ready to head North. For the first time in my trip I did not have a clear goal set in mind where I would like to be in the evening - I could be here, I could be there, the main thing was to enter Moldova and pass the city of Cahul. To do that I just had to cycle, nothing more, nothing less.
Bītli jau atradās uz izjukšanas robežas, bet viņiem tomēr šķita prātīga doma pieaicināt cilvēkus no televīzijas uz viņu jaunākā albuma ierakstīšanas procesu, pie reizes uzfilmējot īpašu šim pasākumam veltītu koncertu, kas notiktu kādā eksotiskā valstī. Kas no tā visa sanāca?
As I had gone to sleep late and still I had set the alarm clock for 5 in the morning, getting up was more difficult than it usually is for me. But I&39;m not the one to give easily in, so at 5:40 I was already on the road. The planned distance this time was very moderate - something between 80 and 90 km, which was good as it was not that easy to start cycling less than 7 hours after having finished the previous evening. For the first thirty minutes or so it was actually cool outside - the sun had just appeared above the horizon, everything was in the shade and cycling was super pleasant.
Viņi iepazinās Zilupes vilcienā. Viņš - Rīgā studējošs zemnieka dēls, kas brauca mājās uz vasaras brīvdienām. Viņa - Zilupes smalkākā jaunkundze, nupat atgirezusies no Parīzes.
While everything else about my stay in Tatarbunary turned out to be pretty good, there was a bit of a downside to this whole story - I had not been able to get a new supply of water, and that could be expected to turn into a serious problem soon, basically because there weren&39;t many villages coming up. Luckily I spotted a car with some local Ukrainian tourists parked near the road with people having breakfast there. So I rode up to them and asked whether they could give me some water (I had noticed that they had several 5 litre bottles of this magical drink). Obviously, they could, so I was saved for a while.
Nebūšu oriģināls - organizācijas ziņā šis bija SLIKTĀKAIS koncerts, kādu līdz šim esmu apmeklējis. Tie čaļi no Sankpēterburgas, kas organizēja The Killers uzstāšanos Rīgā, vakar domājams izpelnījās daudz skarbu vārdu no publikas puses. Pusotru stundu!
For the next few days I did not have any strict goals on where I should be at what time - I didn&39;t have any hosts for the two nights in a row, so theoretically I could camp wherever I wanted to and at what time I wanted to. Still I had planned to reach Tatarbunary on the first day and Izmail on the second. Not that it mattered that much, but sometimes it is better to set yourself a goal. And sometimes it is better not to set one - depending on how you feel.

When you need to cycle something close to 100 km during the day it is not a common practice to start cycling at noon, especially when the weather is as hot as it is in the South of Ukraine. But who cares about normal practice anyway? And it&39;s not like the distance would be something from another world. Yes, it was hot, but I was prepared for that, and I also had the hope that this was the first and last time when I would need to cycle much in the hottest afternoon hours, therefore I just pedalled and pedalled, and made my way in the direction of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
